Solid Timber

housedining

Fraemohs is the ultimate in a natural product with the added bonus of requiring minimal maintenance. Once the interior has been coated with clear finish and the exterior stain has been completed, only an occasional re-staining of the exterior is required to keep your Fraemohs home looking in top condition.

The Fraemohs system offers the ultimate in simplicity using natural timber throughout. The construction method is based on the Scandinavian log cabin principle with kiln dried laminated pinus radiata wall planks interlocking to provide unique strength - without a single nail. Only the roof and floor call for nails in their construction.

The walls in a Fraemohs home are constructed from horizontally placed interlocking timbers. Each piece is numbered and each wall is marked alphabetically. Laminated exposed roof beams fit neatly into pre-machined slots in the walls and the sloping ceilings are made from tongue and groove precut boards.

The option of a trussed roof  (flat ceilings) is also available. Electrical and data wiring is concealed in ducts machined in the walls at the factory and the plumbing pipes are hidden inside the appropriate joinery units.

Our unique building system is better

Fraemohs homes are built using a unique building system, with interlocking timbers providing exceptional strength. Our homes are quiet, warm, durable, and low maintenance so you can just relax and enjoy.

The solid radiata pine used by Fraemohs Homes has instant appeal. Liberating rather than confining with flowing golden textures of timber grain interrupted infrequently by naturally occurring knots add to form a unique living space.

Each month raw materials are ordered from around New Zealand. They are then processed through our lamination factory where the timber is dressed, two-sides, glued, and placed in lamination presses overnight.

The following day the timber is put into storage for up to five days to allow the glue to cure. After that the timber is ready to be machined and prepared for each individual order.

Once manufacturing has been completed the timber is Treated to H3.1 level with LOSP (Light Organic Solvent Preservation) treated to appropriate international standards. The home is then ready for dispatch to the new homeowner or building contractor.
