About Fraemohs Homes
Fraemohs has been producing unique, high quality solid timber homes for local and overseas markets since 1968. Fraemohs have adapted to changes in building design and building codes over that period and today’s solid timber homes meet all modern design requirements.
With the addition of the Fraemohs StrongWall insulated concrete building system in 2011 customers now have a choice of 2 superior building systems together with a wide range of wall finishes to complement solid timber.
Solid Timber and StrongWall are both listed as sustainable building materials.
The business is New Zealand owned and located in Christchurch. All manufacturing of solid timber homes is carried out on site using New Zealand pine which is dressed, laminated, machined and treated in our own factory.
The ICF (Insulated Concrete Form) units used in Fraemohs StrongWall are also manufactured in Christchurch by a sister company of Fraemohs.
With the advent of global warming there is renewed interest in solid timber buildings due to:
- Timber is a renewable resource
- Timber is a natural eco friendly building material unlike concrete and steel
- Solid timber homes lock up carbon for the life of the building
- Solid timber homes are energy efficient and help control humidity
Fraemohs solid timber homes are available as kitset or fully completed, and can be built from a Fraemohs standard plan or to your own design.
Fraemohs is a member of the Solid Wood Group which is working within the community to educate New Zealanders on the benefits of solid timber in term of the environment, energy efficiency and healthy living.
